Council Supports New Businesses in Hackney's Parks

Hackney Council scheme that supports local enterprise, has give a green light to two local businesses, which will be trading in Hackney’s parks.

London Fields and Mark Street Gardens will be the first places, where the opportunity to run temporary catering facilities will be trialled.

Councillor Jonathan McShane, Cabinet Member for Health, Social Care and Culture, Hackney Council states that the Council's idea to support local businesses will give people greater choice and better facilities in the borough's green spaces. This new scheme's advantages are that it will provide better quality food and drink, while at the same time will help local businesses develop like the cleaners in Hackney, for example.

The new facilities start work from Friday 31 May from 08:00 to 20:00hrs, seven days a week during the summer months, with menus, which includes home made cordials, home made hot-dogs, salads and ice cream sandwiches.
